Player Information
Name: Heidi
Age: 34
Plurk:
AIM: Sunlightrhapsody

CHARACTER NAME: James Tiberius Kirk
CHARACTER SERIES: Star Trek AOS or Kelvin Universe (flavors of TOS peppered in)
[OOC]
Backtagging: Sure! I just may be slow.
Threadhopping: You might want to ask any parties involved first.
Fourthwalling: Ask permission first, but sometimes might be fun.
Offensive subjects: Well, maybe certain kinks are just a no? No instant jumping into bed unless it’s a meme where that’s part of the point. XD I’ll update this if I can think of anything else.
[IC]
Hugging this character: Sure! Especially if he knows you or he saved you. He’s a huggy guy. Especially around the shoulders.
Kissing this character: He can be a bit of a playboy, so he likely wouldn’t mind kissing. I play him leaning more toward girls with an attraction to guys. So if he knows the guy, he’ll likely be fine with it.
Flirting with this character: Oh yes. Equal opportunity flirtatious individual. He loves flirting.
Fighting with this character: Well, he likes venting through his fists even if he has matured a bit by the Beyond canon. So it is likely you could easily provoke him if you tried (especially when drunk).
Injuring this character: Jim gets hurt a lot. I am fine with most injuries.
Killing this character: Ask? I kind of like him alive and he’s already died once in canon, he doesn’t want to die again.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Sure! But message me about it so I know what’s going on.
Warnings:
I don’t normally jump into smut till I’ve played a bit with someone. Though it’s not off the table. I love building CR. Jim is predominantly bisexual, but very selective about guys as a partner. (With a preference to McCoy, but totally open to other pairings.)
Spending Christmas with Bones and his mother had been eye opening as well as well... nice. Beautifully wonderful kind of nice. In a lot of ways, he compared it to the movies. The happy families in the Christmas films he watched with Bones and his mom. Granted, some of it had him a little jealous that he never got any of that with his own mother. A mother that hadn't called to check on him since he'd been shot. Not that he made an effort to call her. So maybe that was a two way street.
But he'd have to call soon with his birthday coming up. And that was mainly for her sake and not his. It marked the anniversary of his dad's death as well as his day of birth. And well, he did it mainly to be sure she was okay and not because he wanted any attention for himself. He still loved her. In a strange distant way.
But that was later. For now he was finishing up his visit with Bones and the doctor finally let him out of the damn sling. As long as he didn't go weight lifting, the prognosis looked good. And the moment they told him that, he got back to exercising. Well, he did at least mind not to over do it even if he was making up for lost time. After getting back from running, he hopped in the shower finally emerging with only a towel before he flopped on the bed with a small smile. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't thrilled to have his arm back and honestly, he just wanted to enjoy the last few days with the future doctor before they had to go back to school.

Unlike most college students, he had to take classes spread thin some semesters and packed others. The fact remained he needed to work as well. He took multiple shifts at at least two jobs at a time. It pretty much killed any time he didn't spend with his studies or in class itself. Sleeping was a pretty valuable commodity that he really didn't have time for, sleep was for the weak anyway, right? Snorting softly, he walked into the yoga class that day with the full intent of sleeping through the positions so to speak.
In reality, he would have preferred something a little faster paced, but with his current lifestyle, he gave in to his counselor's advice and signed up for this one instead. He still preferred more activity, but he found the class rather relaxing especially when he was sure he likely had ulcers on top of lack of sleep. So he didn't complain and showed up on time. At first he'd been more amused and pleased by the pretty girls in the class. No harm in looking, right? And flirting, given the chance (which came up often). Then he found that all that lost it's fare. Instead his eyes kept slipping back to the med student he'd met a few times in the school clinic.
He'd be lying if he said his eyes always tracked their way to him when they were in the same room or even passing in the halls of the university or out on campus. In fact, he wasn't too proud to admit that the one time he sprung his ankle was cause he stopped watching where he was going while out jogging because he'd seen the brunette walking with a pretty grad student that he didn't care to know her name. The fact remained, he knew what a 'couple' looked like and it made something feel like it crumpled in his chest.
That's when his lull in flirting picked back up and he no longer tried to make himself just say something to him. What was the point now?
It didn't stop him from looking when he was certain the guy wouldn't notice. It certainly didn't stop him from finding a spot when he could behind him so he could study the way he moved or just... enjoy the view. Which was why he noticed today was just... different. Jim couldn't put his finger on it, but he just knew something was bothering the other man.
A line furrowed his brow as he fought that long time struggle internally to just... say something. Ask what was wrong or something. He just didn't think he'd sound so lame when he walked up next to his mat after class. "What's up, doc? Catch something from one of your patients?" If Jim were a lesser person, he would have instantly put a hand over his face in shame over that greeting.

Since Yorktown, he knew something changed slowly inside of him. It made him feel more alive each day of the years that followed. To be honest, marrying Bones and learning to take care of himself really, well... made him a better person. He thought risks through and made it a primary objective to get back to the man he loved. And quite honestly, he kept thinking that nothing could make it better. What could possibly make it better?
Except that one question from when they'd decided to get married. A family. Children.
Jim never really stopped thinking about that question. The only reason he'd not pushed it or brought it up was due to being out in space. He wanted to wait till they were planet side on Earth. No child should be drug through the black and he didn't want to be the one to make them miserable. He refused to make the same mistakes as his parents. He wouldn't be his mother. But he wanted to give Bones that one thing, that family he wanted so much. What he hadn't expected was to have to take a side trip on their way back to Earth. An Earth colony sent out a distress call as a disease had torn through their livestock and crops.
When Jim stepped foot on the ground, he felt like he was walking through the streets of Tarsus IV all over again. So many had already died before they got there. The colony had already been small.. now it took so little space on the Enterprise to pick the refugees up and take them with the ship back to Earth. If he hadn't had Bones, he might have let himself find the nearest bottle of liquor to drown in. And because he made himself deal with it and meet it head on, Jim found that while Bones took care of their health, he spent time with the orphans that had no family left. Some of the colonists could help find names, relatives on earth... Only a few kids, Jim couldn't find any living relatives for. Not even after long talks into the evening shift with higher ups and Starfleet.
That night, he'd watched Bones with the kids giving them their inoculations and caring for them... and everything suddenly made sense.
When he wasn't arranging for people to meet them at the landing area, he started the paperwork and talked to all of the necessary people until he had it ready. He just needed one thing. Taking the Data PADD, he moved through the halls of the Enterprise toward Medbay. upon arrival, he stopped in the door and looked over the kids. Most specifically, the small set of twins that Bones really seemed to take a liking to, even before Jim found out they had no home to return to. "Hey, Bones... got a sec?"

In all his life, James T. Kirk never considered himself sentimental. In fact, he kept as far from that word as he possibly could. Strings tended to attach themselves to sentimentality and he saw what those strings did to people. He'd seen it over and over, time after time throughout his life. From a mother that lost the love of her life to her failed attempts at remarrying complete assholes that she deemed good enough to watch her kids while she gallivanted off into space. He cared about her. But he also gave up on those strings that she cut herself. He knew family and their love only to watch them starve and die. His brother left him alone just before that and honestly, Jim pretty much knew the only person he could count on had been himself.
Then Pike convinced him to join Starfleet. And aside from even losing the only father figure in the world, he couldn't be sorry for that choice. Jim acknowledged that there had been some higher plan involved or something, if you were philosophical or religious, but the real reason he felt no regret was due to a single salty edged man that had the bedside manner of a honey badger. A thought that made him snort softly as he stepped up to the temporary place of work for his CMO and best friend while they were forced to stay in Yorktown for the rebuilding of the Enterprise.
The one plus to being stuck there turned out to be the free time he had. Where he was still busy, he felt like he had way more time to meet Bones at the door and drag him off for time to wind down. Today, he'd already announced he wanted to drag the other out... after all, it was the twentieth and he was fairly certain Bones didn't even remember the significance at all. On the other hand, Jim found it his duty to do something for the one person that drug his ass through crisis after crisis. Which was why he intended to make sure he poked at the doctor until he had fun even if it meant going out of his way to get a smile out of him.
Leaning against the wall by the door, he turned over the small box in his jacket pocket with a gift he'd been planning well... even before all this mess. He just found a gleeful opportunity to make it amusing as it was well thought out. Or... he hoped it was well thought out. In any case, he lit up with a smirk as he caught sight of the doctor. Lifting from the wall, he grinned lopsidedly and made a quick decision to try something new and ridiculous. Possibly dangerous, but definitely new and amusing. In any case, he went all out with a low whistle. "Can I follow you home? Cause all my teachers told me I should always follow my dreams."

[Continued from here.]
The smile went straight to his eyes causing the blue to be nearly luminous as he tipped his head to let the other man kiss him. A shiver ran down his spine and he closed his eyes at just how intense that feeling was. He rarely let anyone else kiss sensitive spots like that. Even drunk he had a very strict policy of control... this... he liked this. Even if the feeling caused a warm flush to spill over his neck and brush over his cheeks. Jim was not a blusher. Yet, he couldn't deny his current state if he tried.
"You're finally catching on to my tactics, it seems." Flicking open his comm, he put in a search and let his eyes drop down to it while he listened to Bones talk. Letting his voice and words wash over him, he hummed a soft sound of thought. Pinpointing a restaurant that could be good, he turned the device to show him showing something more burgers and shakes and simple like he preferred. "You know. That's not a bad idea. A trip back home before we go on a five year mission."
He'd ask for it. For Bones' sake. It wasn't like he had anything back home to return to. All he had was really.. well.. standing right next to him. Lifting his head, he let his eyes wander to the elder's profile, idly wondering if he did get that plan cleared... where would he go while he waited for him to come back. That thought twisted in his stomach and he had to turn his head away and look forward again. He shouldn't think about things like that. Going on a date with Bones was a dream come true so to speak, and he had no intentions of screwing that up.
